. Format: Fourball betterball “round robin” competition with the winners of each group progressing to a knockout tournament for the final stages. Matches are played off handicap (3/4 handicap allowance) home and away - handicaps plus to 14.
Each team will play the other teams in their group both home and away, receiving 4 points for an away win, 3 points for a home win, 2 points for an away draw and 1 point for a home draw. If two teams are tied at the top of their group after all matches have been completed, the results of the match between those two teams will decide the winner. If there is still a tie, then the aggregate number of holes won and lost in the other matches will decide. The quarter finals and semi finals are also to be played on a home and away basis.

3. Eligibility: Open to all clubs affiliated to the KCLGA. All players must be members of a club affiliated to the KCLGA, Rule 6 a (ii) EWGA County Golf Regulations applies). A club may enter as many teams as it wishes. If a player's handicap increases to over 14, after the draw has been made, she may still remain in the competition but must play off 14.
4. Where Clubs have 2 Courses: once a course is agreed upon, when the match is booked, this must be upheld.
5. Green Fees: If a green fee has to be paid it will be shared.
6. Caddies: Can give advice and may go on the green to attend the flag, but they must be lady members of a club affiliated to the County.
7. Golf Carts: (Buggies): Only allowed with medical certificate produced on entry.
8. General Rule: When a trolley ban exists it must apply to members of both teams - whether home or away. Medical dispensation not accepted. Matches should be played in accordance with 'Tees and Greens of the Day' and commence at the 1st Tee
where possible.
9. Dates Offered: In the Knockout stage, each team to make contact and offer, within two weeks of the relevant date of the draw, at least three mid-week dates spread over not less than two weeks. Should the Home team not contact the Away team within a fortnight of the draw being made, the Away team may choose the venue, but must at the time of contact offer three dates, spread over not less than two weeks.
10. Completion Dates: The "round robin" stage and the knockout stage must be completed on time. No extensions will be allowed. A match can be re-arranged only if the course is closed or by mutual consent. Bad weather is not a valid reason for changing the date unless both teams agree an alternative date.
11. Draw: The initial draw will cover the whole competition with each match being played on a home and away basis. If two teams from the same club meet, one match is to count as the away fixture and the other as the home. A coin is to be tossed to decide which team plays at home first.
12. Results: The results of each match in the round robin stage should be telephoned or elmailed by both teams to the competition organiser within 48 hours of completion. In the knockout stage if the results of the home and away matches are identical the players will proceed to the 19th hole (first tee) to play sudden death in order to obtain a result. The result must be sent to the Competition Organiser as soon as possible.
If the match is played on the last date, the result must be telephoned immediately.
13. Substitutes: A substitute will be allowed if, at the beginning of the group matches, none have been played in the particular group. Thereafter, no substitutes are permitted unless there are exceptional circumstances and the Competition Organiser must be consulted beforehand. Each team can make only one substitution and only after the first match has been completed. Any substitute must have a handicap of plus to 14, subject to Rule 3 above. A player who has previously been knocked out of the competition may not play again as a substitute in any other team. If one player cannot play and no bona fide substitute is available, or once a substitute has been used, the remaining player may play on her own.
14. Walkovers: No walkovers are to be given at any stage of the competition unless there are extreme circumstances. Giving walkovers distorts the results of the group placings. If there are extreme circumstances and neither players in the team are able to play any one match, the appropriate winning points will be awarded to the opponents with a match score of 2 and 1. If a team has to scratch before they have played any matches in their group, no points will be awarded. It is possible that a team who gives a walkover with no extreme circumstances will be excluded from the competition the following year.
15. Finals Day: As far as is practicable, the FINAL will be held on a neutral course with County Green status and in the presence of a referee from the KCLGA. Players are required to change for presentation and tea.
16. Trophy: The trophy will be presented to the winners on Finals Day to be held for one year. The winning club will receive a memento and the Runners Up will receive a framed KCLGA certificate.
17. Thunderstorms: In the event of a storm players should mark their balls, return to the Clubhouse and resume play as soon as possible. If the course remains closed for the day, the match shall be rearranged and play shall commence on the tee of the incomplete hole.
18. Practise Rounds: Courtesy for Practise Rounds are at Club's discretion and permission should be sought from the Manager/Secretary prior to the game..
19. The Committee's decision is final if any incident not covered in these rules occurs.
