RULES FOR THE BRADLEY COOK & PARALLEL PLATE
1. Format: 5-a-side Scratch Team knockout tournament played in handicap order. Home and away up to the final. First round losers will automatically be entered into the draw for the Parallel Plate. Should the number of entries require a preliminary round the above will not apply top the losers in the preliminary round.Matches should be played in accordance with Tees and Greens of the day and will where possible be playedat the 1st tee.
2. Entry Fee: £10 per club
3. Eligibility: Open to all clubs affiliated to the KCLGA. All players must be members of a club affiliated to the KCLGA (Rule 6 a (ii) EWGA County Golf Regulations applies). No player may represent more than one club during the course of the event. A club may only enter one team.
4. Where Clubs have 2 Courses: once a course is agreed upon, when the match is booked, this must be upheld.
5. Seeded Players and Draw: Finalists and semi finalists will be placed in opposite sides of the draw the following year.
6. Green Fees: If a green fee has to be paid, it will be shared.
7. Caddies: Can give advice and go on the green to attend the flag, but they must be lady members of a club affiliated to the County.
8. Golf Carts: (Buggies): Only allowed with a medical certificate, produced on entry.
9. General Rule: When a trolley ban exists it must apply to members of both teams - whether home or away. Medical dispensation not accepted. Matches should be played in accordance with 'Tees and Greens of the Day' and commence at the 1st Tee where possible. Matches will be played in handicap order.
10. Dates Offered: Each team to contact and offer at least four dates, spread over not less than two weeks, which must include two mid-week and two weekend dates. Should a team be unable to contact the opposition within a fortnight of the relevant draw being made they will gain HOME advantage for both matches. Bank holidays are classed as weekend.
11. Completion Dates: Each round must be completed on time. No extensions will be allowed.
12. Substitutes: If any player be more than 30 minutes late from the commencement of the first match she shall forfeit her match unless a reserve is availabe.
13. Results: Every match must be played to its conclusion. In the event of a tie after the home and away match the result will be decided on the total number of holes won. If a tie still exists the team with the better result in the away match will go through. Should there still be a tie each team must nominate one person to play sudden death. The result of each match to be posted to the organiser by both teams within 48 hours on the match sheet provided. If the match is played on the last date the result must be telephone immediately. If a match is conceded the score for that match will be 10 and 8.
14. Finals Day: The final will be played as far as is practicable on a neutral course in the presence of a referee from the KCLGA.
The final of the Parallel Plate will be played in conjunction with the Bradley Cook. Players are required to change for presentation and tea.
15. Trophy: Will be presented to the winners on Final Day to be held for one year. The winning club will receive a memento and the runners-up a framed certificate.
16. Thunderstorms: In the event of a storm players should mark their balls, return to the clubhouse and resume play as soon as possible. If the course remains closed for the day, the match shall be rearranged and play shall commence on the tee of the incomplete hole.
17. Practise rounds: Courtesies for Practise rounds are at the Club's discretion and permission should be sought from the Manager/Secretary prior to the game.
18. Failure to play both Home and Away matches will result in exclusion from the competition the following year unless extreme circumstances are given.
19. The Committee's decision is final if any incident not covered in these rules occurs.
