Kent Seniors win Inter Counties championship 2016

On Monday 26 September 2016 the Kent senior ladies win the seniors inter-counties championship 2016 at Royal Mid Surrey. Very well played and congratulations, ladies.

This is the 2nd time in 3 years the Kent seniors win the championship. In 2014 they won at Littlestone and in 2015 they were 2nd by 1 shot.

The team travelled down on Sunday to play their practice round and stayed overnight, having a fun evening together.

The 9 counties are Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Middlesex, Hants, Essex, Hertfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire. Each team fielded 4 players with 3 scratch medal scores to count for the competition. Sadly, Oxfordshire couldn’t field a team.

The Kent team of Sandy Catford (Chart Hills), Kim Morris (Sundridge Park), Angela Jones (Chart Hills) and Tita McCart (Sundridge Park) played great golf and came in with a total score of 230 and so did Essex. Kent win on count back as the 4th score was 1 shot better than Essex. Thanks to Terri Linskey (Wrotham Heath) for being our non-travelling reserve. Full scoreboard >>

Many thanks need to go to Sandy, the senior captain, who has organised the senior team this year with a lot of enthusiasm and success. Also thanks to our supporters; Anne Billings (Kent Captain), Elaine Tappin (Kent President), Ingrid Long (Vice Captain) and Marilyn Brown (Kent Committee).
